balanceando SONY HVR 1000P / Rigging SONY HVR 1000P

La semana pasada tuve la oprtunidad de balancear una SONY HVR 1000P (pude haberlo hecho antes ya que un amigo se compró dicha cámara también, aunque no quería importunarlo), y debo decirles que es mucho más pesada que la SONY HVR-Z1P, aunque es mucho más homogénea y el peso está casi perfectamente distribuído en el cuerpo de la misma. Por ello debí usar un poste muy largo y 6 pesos de cada lado. Si quisiera usar un poste más corto debería probablemente agregar más contrapesos abajo.
I had the chance lastweek to rig a SONY HVR 1000P (I could have rigged this model before, because a frien bougth on of these but i didn´t wanted to bother him), so I must say it is heavier than the SONY HVR-Z1P, but the weigth distribution is pretty much homogeneous in this camera. That´s why I had to use a long post , and 6 conterweigths on each side.
If I wish to use a shorter post, I must add more counterweigths at the bottom.

Backstage del Corto"la tapadita" / "la tapadita" Shortfilm Backstage

Estas son imágenes de un cortometraje al que fuí llamado a participar por Miguel Momforte, quien da clases sobre cinematografía. Sus alumnos fueron incentivados a "usar variadas técnica s de grabación", por ello decidieron usar un estabilizador para tomas de persecuación policial.
Particularmente, soy de la idea que la cámara en mano da ese vértigo (por ello la cámara no estaba perfectamente balanceada, sino que la dejé "un poco libre" para que oscile y logre un movimiento más casual).

This is the footage from a shortfilm, where I was called to participate by Miguel Momforte, and his students (he teaches cinematography). His students were challenged to use "different recording technics", that´s why they decided to use a stabilyzer for the cop-chase sequence.

I actually think that hand driven cam is the way to go here (that´s why the camera IS NOT perfectly ballanced, it swings a little bit obtaining a movement more casual).

Configuración / Set-Up

Esta configuración tiene 1 pesa de cada lado del SLED, la distancia del poste no la voy a decir porque es INEXACTA.

Configuración Optima: recomiendo usar 2 pesas de cada lado y agregar una pesa en la parte superior del poste (entre el plato y la cámara), entonces con 5 cm de poste podríamos balancear bastante bien.

This Set-UP has 1 counterweigth on each side of the sled, and the post length, I will reserve it, because it is NOT EXACT.

PROPER SETUP: I recomend 2 counterweigths on each side, and add a plate at the top of the post (between the cam and the adjustment plate), in this case a 5 cm post (like 2 inches) will balance OK.

well that´s the last band I recorded that night, next I´ll upload shots from a ShotFilm I have been participating like 3 weeks ago (but still don´t have the material), with backstage an all, and then I will see if is possible to upload some part of a intitutional video that I´ve recorded 2 weeks ago, but there are some copyright issues to solver first.

Bueno, esa es la última banda que grabé ésa noche, próximamente voy a subir algunas tomas de un Cortometraje en el cual participé como hace 3 semanas (pero todavía no me llegó el material), con backstage y todo, y luego veremos si puedo subir alguna parte de un vídeo institucional que he grabado hace 2 semanas, sin embargo debo arreglar algunas cuestiones con los derechos primero.
